Snicket Snake
So, there are a zillion ways to approach the same situation and each person has a different way. To see the beauty of it all, an open mind is needed and a desire to understand. While this is so vague, I hope it helps someone today or whenever this is read to maybe reveal a certain situation. (?)

Here's to love and thought!
Pig in a blanket
I am super hypocritical. I don't eat meat partly for the reason that people shouldn't need to kill animals to feed themselves. So, why do I wear leather? I don't like the idea of leather, but it is so natural but tough-looking. Well, I got these shorts 2nd hand from a friend and I don't have to think twice about accepting them, because I love how leather looks. I just wish a little that it didn't have to be a dead pig or cow wrapped around by butt. I found some better outlets, like recycled bike tires still have that same look, but I have yet to find a skirt made out of bike tires. (I found this really cool bike-tire bag, though. Once I find a spare 80 bucks, it's mine) Well, happy hunting to all!!

Waldo's Granny Punked Up
Just another day mixing knits with wool and lace. Balanced all of the texture by putting black pieces throughout. Black is super important in my closet and is slowly taking over. That's okay because black is never out of fashion so each black investment I make I am making an investment in my style for the rest of my life, hopefully.

Grunge Rock
Not the best pictures in the world because every color somehow blends into the background. But, you get the picture. I dyed my hair the other day and it was supposed to be blue black, but it just looks black. School gives busy days and either bad pictures and good grades, or good pictures and bad grades. Maybe I'll get my roommate to take better pictures.

Gran Griznay
I got super grannied out today. I was wearing lace on lace on velvet and felt super fancy. That's okay though, because it is super healthy to feel fancy. Which has brought me full circle to grannies wear lace and probably velvet so they must feel pretty healthy, too. What logic. :)

Designs for Princesses
So, as I was link jumping the other day, and I found this blog post with pictures of disney princess inspired dresses by big ol' designers. Like any other young girl growing up in american, I was babysat by disney princess movies and am attracted to anything princess related. More than anything, it's probably the idea of falling madly in love and getting to wear pretty dresses. So, to feed that never ending hunger I give you four of my favorite pictures from the post. (click that link above to see all of them)
This dress is for Ariel by Marchesa. This was so cleverly done in watercolor and in deep blue. Mostly I like how dramatic the silhouette is. We all know how unreal those princess` body proportions are.
I had to put Cinderella on here because she's my favorite princess. This dress is by Versace and is super gorgy with it's banded corset. Cinderella is allowed to be so well frosted with diamonds because she's been cleaning for so many years and clean things sparkle. (In case you haven't seen Cinderella I must clear up that she isn't actually cleaning herself like I just seemed to hint.)
This is an outfit for Jasmine by Escada. I love myself a silk billowy pants! Plus, gold isn't that tough to keep around your neck.

The last is a Rapunzel inspired dress by Jenny Packham. I love the glitzy back of the dress which is strung in the jewels. I don't know why Rapunzel is wearing something so dark... maybe because she was locked in a dark tower for so long. Of all of the dresses, this is my favorite... so long and elegant.
Bleeding oxen?
I've seen a lot of this red color in a lot of photos. I've heard it called oxblood, or wine red, but I think of it as a rock and roll color. It could perhaps be called rock 'n rouge if I was naming a nail polish color of it. I think it's a great color especially for this fall. I think it's sort of sensual, sophisticated, and mysterious. Plus it can break up my attraction to the black and white clothes I wear.
I found this shawl on the sidebar that I think is super pretty. It's massive expensive but it's okay to be a dreamer.
I have been trying to determine how to use dark lipstick but avoid going all the way black. Oxblood, plum, and velvet colors can help take the plunge. Because dark lipcolor is so dramatic, it needs to feel subtle by blending it with dark clothes and dark hair. I like the following picture with the tough black and snakeskin mixed with the soft lace, but it doesn't work very well for everyday.
It could be evened out with black lined eyes, dark hair, and dark clothes like in the next picture.
So here it is, the new fad color that is seen all over. Personally? I love it. It mixes a sensual gaze with an androgynous edge. Mostly it is just a shade of red which supposedly looks good on everyone but because I love black, I love dark red.

School Begins Again
Today was the first day of real classes for school and I wore this outfit. This summer has been full of working (in a boring uniform) and getting ready for moving into my new house, so outfit posts were far from abundant. Now that I have house-mates I can borrow pieces from their closets making better outfits :) huzzah!
These pictures show my new outfit post background and maybe I'll use some from around the campus if I get lucky. Otherwise you get these blank faced expressions.
I wore a top from the Goodwill, a secondhand skirt, boots from Urban, and an orange belt from my roomie's closet.
